Treading Water
After the sudden death of her boyfriend Jax, 22-year-old Lyra finds herself lost between the person she was and the life she no longer recognises. The ocean once brought her peace—it was the thing she and Jax loved most—but now it only reminds her of everything she’s lost. Her best friends, Tee and Serena, try to reach her, determined not to abandon their long-awaited Aussie road trip the trio had planned for years. But Lyra just pushes them away, unable to imagine joy without him.
As the weeks pass and her friends begin to worry, Lyra is forced to face her grief head-on and decide whether holding on to the past is keeping her from living. Treading Water is a tender, introspective story about friendship, love, loss, and the slow, fragile process of learning how to move forward.
