Fences

'Fences' (2025) follows the story of a security guard in South Africa. Mysterious events occur, and the loss of his bicycle to theft leaves him in a liminal mental space. Here, he comes to terms with the need for spiritual guidance from a traditional healer. While pondering the nature of his existence in his vulnerable position in society, he searches for answers in unfamiliar places. What is the function of the fence in South Africa? Safety? Or an object of class divisions?
